Private ART studio "Art of the Young Students" (ARTYS) has been operating in San Jose, CA since 2014. The studio offers classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, and decorative arts for children aged 4 and a half to 12 years old. Over the course of 8 years, around a hundred young students have passed through the studio. Lessons are conducted in Russian, and many programs are built around children's literary works and fairy tales, such as "The Tale of Tsar Saltan," "Mowgli," "The Adventures of Nils," poems by Yunna Morits, and more.
The desire for self-expression through the creation of visual images is an important and necessary component in shaping a young artist. When this desire is combined with properly presented foundations of drawing and painting, truly interesting children's works are born, becoming a source of pride for the young creator and, let's not hide it, their parents as well. Unleashing one's potential happens through the continuous accumulation of creative experience and artistic skills, which sometimes requires a lot of time and effort. At ARTYS Studio, we provide a wide variety of themed assignments, all part of a unified program, allowing the student to repeatedly delve into the fundamentals of drawing, composition, and painting, discovering something new each time and elevating their level of mastery to unfold their creative potential.
Alena Mukhina is the founder and head instructor of the studio. Alena is a graduate of the Moscow Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture (1997) with a specialization in art history. Since 1997, Alena has been professionally teaching various art disciplines to preschool and elementary school children. For many years, Alena ran her own studio, "Muha Tsokotukha," at the Vatagin Children's Art School in Moscow, together with her colleagues from the art workshop. And so it began.
Alena is a talented artist who works on her own artistic projects and extensively experiments with different materials and forms in her creations. Through her work, Alena has developed a unique technique for decorating cards, glass bottles, and creating collages from carefully selected leather scraps. Perhaps some of her most captivating and vibrant works are her landscape collages.
Анастасия Мухина. Педагог по скульптуре студии ARTYS.
Anastasya Mukhina – is a former student and now a sculpture and modeling instructor at ARTYS Studio. Anastasya is a worthy successor of a family artistic tradition. From an early age, she showed an interest in painting, which she continued to develop after moving to California with her family in 2012. Anastasya is a talented young artist who has also inherited the teaching experience of her main mentor, her mother – Elena Mukhina.
Anastasya is loved by our students, and her lessons are fun and relaxed. Sculpting has become one of the favorite subjects at the studio.
Anastasya continues to refine her skills at the OTIS Art School in Los Angeles, CA. Unfortunately, in this academic year (2022/23), our students will only have the opportunity to see Anastasya during a series of master classes that the studio plans to hold during winter and summer vacations.
